The Indian state of Rajasthan is mostly famous for its forts, temples, tigers and culture and its the most popular state in India for western tourists.
But the state is more than just the ancient forts and big cats, the local men might have the most impressive beards and moustache in the world.
There´s a staying in Rajasthan:
A man without a moustache is like a cup of tea without sugar. Or so the saying goes.
Having a proper beard/mustache is such a big thing in Rajasthan, that there´s even a few competition a year in the state with the main one being in Pushkar during the Camel fair in November, but that’s not the only one.
There were even a few western foreigners that were attending the competition this year, but they should have realised that they had nothing to compete with against these magnificent beards and moustache.
It was not even worth taken photos of the foreign competitors compared to the locals.
I was lucky to be in Jaisalmer during the Jaisalmer Desert Festival.
Most of these portraits are taken during the festival, but not all of them.
